On Monday, freshman lefty reliever Jake Mulholland became the fourth OSU player to win Pac-12 pitcher of the week. The 6-foot-2 Snohomish High School (Washington) graduate pitched 10 2/3 innings in three appearances last week, striking out nine hitters while allowing five hits and two earned runs. He went 2-0 with one save, garnering a 1.68 ERA during that stretch. Mulholland had five strikeouts in 2 1/3 scoreless innings Tuesday to close a 4-3 win over Portland. He then had two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings during a Friday win over Utah before returning to the mound Saturday, when he allowed two hits and a run in 6 2/3 innings of a 16-inning victory over the Utes. Mulholland, threw 22 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings to start his college career. He is now 4-0 this season with a 0.59 ERA in 30 2/3 innings, along with 29 strikeouts to five walks.
