Chaffey opened the National Prep Tournament at the University of Washington with a 10-1 win over Eastside Baseball.
Billy Boyer and Kevin Corrigan both went 2-for-2 for the game to lead Chaffey at the plate.
John Addison lead off the bottom of the first with a walk and stole second, Ben Mummy singled into left scoring John, Billy Boyer singled into the hole at short when Matt Hague came to the plate and doubled into right scoring both Ben and Billy, Kevin Corrigan singled up the middle scoring Matt to give Chaffey a 4-0 lead. Billy scored two runs and also tripled off the wall in left center.
In the bottom of the fourth Chaffey put six runs on the board-when Billy Boyer lead the inning off with a triple, Kevin Corrigan singled into left scoring Billy, Josh Waite also singled into left moving Kevin to third, Jordan Wagner singled scoring Kevin, Bradley Boyer drew a walk to load the bases, John Addison tripled into left center clearing the bases scoring Josh, Jordan and Bradley, Chris Minaker hit a fielders choice to the first baseman scoring John for Chaffey’s final run of the inning-extending Chaffey’s lead to 10-1. John went 1-for-2 for the game with 3-rbi’s and 2-runs scored.
Brian Cox threw all five innings on the mound spreading out 9-hits and giving up no walks.
Chaffey’s next game will be Friday night at 7:30PM against the Vancouver Cardinals.
