Chaffey scored the first run of the game in the top of the 2nd inning. Brandon Mitchel reached 1st on an error and then Sam Leach doubled into left center moving Brandon over to third. Drew Serres hit a fielder’s choice into the 6-hole allowing Brandon to score. On the ensuing play Sam was thrown out trying to advance to 3rd.
In the top of the 3rd Chaffey added the 2nd run of the game. With 2-outs Kevin Nakahara doubled into center and Matt Gretler followed with a single up the middle. On a double steal Kevin scored from 3rd.
In the bottom of the 3rd Lakeside came back and scored 3-runs to take a 3-2 lead. They followed up scoring 2-more runs in the bottom of the 4th to extend their lead to 5-2.
Mike Petrie led off the 6th with a single into right and was forced out at 2nd after a fielder’s choice hit by Sam Leach. On back to back wild-pitches Sam advanced to 3rd and scored when Drew Serres singled into left center cutting Lakeside’s lead to 5-3. Lakeside extended their lead scoring 3-more runs in the bottom of the 6th to a final score of 8-3.
Jimmy Boyce threw the first 3 innings with Lucas Chapman throwing the 4th and 5th and Jacob Bogacz threw the 6th inning.
