Brandon Mitchell threw 5-innings, only allowing 3-hits and not walking a batter on the way to an 11-2 win over Kalispell Lakers.
Kalispell scored the first 2-runs of the game in the top of the 1st neither of which was an earned run. Chaffey came right back in the bottom of the inning and score 1-run to cut the lead to 2-1. Colton Bunt singled into left and stole second. Zach Nussbaum doubled into right center scoring Colton for Chaffey’s run. Colton finished the game going 3-for-3 scoring 3-runs.
In the bottom of the 2nd inning Chaffey put 7-runs on the board to take an 8-2 lead over Kalispell. David Johnson singled into right and Drew Serres doubled into center scoring David. Jack Smith singled into left advancing Drew to 3rd and Kevin Nakahara drew a base on balls to load the bases. Colton bunted for a base hit scoring Drew and left the bases loaded. Matt Gretler then doubled into center scoring Jack and Kevin. Zach tripled into right scoring Colton and Matt and Sam Leach hit a fielder’s choice scoring Zach for Chaffey’s 7th run of the inning. Matt and David each went 2-for-3, with Matt pushing 3-RBI’s across the plate. Zach was 2-for-2 with a double and triple.
In the bottom of the 4th Chaffey scored its final 3-runs with Kevin leading the inning off with a triple into right center. Colton followed with a single into center scoring Kevin. Matt Gretler then followed with a single into right center moving Colton to 3rd and Derek Lohr was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Sam singled into center scoring both Colton and Matt extending Chaffey’s lead to 11-2.
