Josh Waite going 2-for-2 and Nate Santiago went 2-for-3 to lead Chaffey over the Tacoma Reds 7-3 at the University of Washington last night.
Chaffey scored all seven runs in the bottom of the second on five hits, two of which where extra base hits. Jake Beattiger lead the inning of with a ball hit into the hole at short that was misplayed, Shane Sullivan doubled into left scoring Jake, Nate Santiago singled up the middle scoring Shane, Kramer Wagner drew a walk and Josh Waite was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Kyle Gilbert hit a fielders choice forcing Josh out at second but scoring Nate, Kevin Corrigan singled into left scoring both Kramer and Kyle, Ryan Berryhill doubled into left center scoring Kevin, Jake came to the plate for the second time of the inning and singled into left center to score Ryan and giving Chaffey a 7-1 lead.
Ian Harrington started the game and threw the first five innings spreading out six-hits and only allowing two-runs to be scored. Trevor Peterson came in middle relief and threw 1-1/3 innings before Jake Beattiger came to to close the game out and get the final two outs.
Chaffey will host Everett Legion at 5:00PM this evening at the University of Washington.
